On April 12, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said at the Huawei Global Analyst Conference that 6G will be introduced to the market around 2030, but what 6G is is still unknown. He said that Huawei will soon release a 6G white paper, telling all walks of life what 6G is. He concluded, "We look forward to 6G, but not necessarily 6G."
At present, the 5G network has been on the right track, and many countries and enterprises have also started the research and development of 6G network technology. Earlier, foreign media reported that South Korea’s LG Electronics had signed a cooperation plan with Keysight and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to jointly develop the next generation of 6G network technology.
In addition, Apple is also hiring engineers to engage in the research and development of next-generation 6G wireless technology. At present, many well-known technology companies have formed the "Next G Alliance". For example, Apple, Google, Charter Communications, Cisco, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Intel, Keysight Technologies, LG Electronics, Mavenir, MITRE and VMware are all members of this organization.
Compared with 5G networks, 6G networks are faster and have lower latency. The performance indicators of 6G networks are expected to reach 10 to 100 times that of 5G, and the peak transmission speed will reach 100Gbps to 1Tbps. In addition, 6G networks will be widely used in application scenarios such as communications, telemedicine, military, and entertainment games.
