Continuing its launching spree, Xiaomi has today launched a new smart home product on its Xiaomi Mall — Xiaomi Door and Window Sensor 2. It will be available through crowdfunding for a price of 39 yuan ($5.6).
Once the crowdfunding campaign gets over, the same product will be sold for 49 yuan (~$7) in China. The crowdfunding of the Xiaomi Door and Windows Sensor 2 is set to start at 10:00 AM local time in China on 12th August.
As the name indicates, this new product is a follow-up to the original Door and Window Sensor that was launched in 2015. The company says that the new Xiaomi Door and Windows Sensor 2 features Mijia multi-function gateway which can detect the status of the door and window in real-time.
It also comes with a new light sensor that can be used to set reminders to open or close the door and window based on the light. For instance, when the light is dim, it can remind the user to open the window.
Additionally, there’s also built-in magnetic induction which can determine the status of the door and windows — whether they are open or closed. The device can also be controlled through the Mijia App and there’s also support for XiaoAI Voice Assistant.
